Background |
UNDP Indonesia's mission is to be an agent for change in the human and social development of Indonesia. We aim to be a bridge between Indonesia and all donors as well as a trusted partner to all stakeholders. We work in four key areas of development: Governance Reforms, Pro-Poor Policy Reforms, Conflict Prevention and Recovery, and Environment Management, with the overarching aim of reducing poverty in Indonesia. Besides the four priority areas, UNDP Indonesia is also engaged in a variety of crosscutting initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and information and technology for development.
I. Organizational Context Under overall guidance and direct supervision of the Project Officer CSO in Nias, the Field Project Assistant will support the Project Officer in the efficient and proper management of project activities in respect to programme planning, needs assessment, implementation, monitoring and reporting.

II. Functions / Key Results Expected Summary of key functions: - Implementation of project plan, adapt processes and procedures.
- Management of project at activity and task level.
- Communication and reporting
1. Ensures implementation of project plan focusing on achievement of the following results: - Attainment of project results and ensuring the processes and procedures.
- Provision of information/report/data on the achievement and processes of project implementation.
2. Ensures effective micro management of the project under the supervision and guidance of the Project Officer and focusing on the quality control from formulation to implementation achieving the following results: - Supports in ensuring practical management of project resources through promotion of effective planning, proposing cost effectiveness and resource-mobilization plan.
- Coordination and Liaison with other PAs.
- Provision of technical assistances to the partners as required.
- Prepares detailed work plans for project activities in coordination with partners.
- Oversee and ensure timely implementation of all the project activities.
- Establishes monitoring framework with partners in the field, including performance indicators.
- Conducts monitoring of project activities, including field visits, to assess overall project implementation with respect to project objectives, outputs, and indicators, and when necessary suggest corrective measures to be undertaken.
- Advises management on the application of procurement and contracting modalities to projects.
- Ensures compliance with administrative, procurement and financial procedures of UNDP and the donor.
- Assist Project Officer in the preparation of project status reports as required.
3. Ensures effective communication and provision of reporting materials related to the project focusing on achievement of the following results: - Maintain communications with partner organizations in the field to coordinate and troubleshoot programmatic and operational issues.
- Collection , management, and processing of data related to the project as required.
- Incorporation of lesson learned and best practices to the project implementation processes.
- Provision of reports that incorporate operational and programmatic concerns and remedial actions to address these concerns.

Required Skills and Experience |
IV. Recruitment Qualifications Education: - A minimum university degree in development studies, social sciences, international relationships or related fields.
Experience: - At least four years professional experiences in the relevant programme
- Good facilitation skills; knowledge of post-natural disaster work and sensibility is highly desirable
- Proactive and sound judgment; dedication to the United Nations principles and demonstrated ability to work in harmony with person of different national and cultural background
- Personal commitment to development; and willingness to travel to project sites
- Previous experience with UN would be an advantage
- Experience in the usage of computer mainly MS office (words, excel, power point etc.),
Language Requirements: - Fluent verbal and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
